  • Michelle was the first Female Commonwealth Attorney for Campbell County, Kentucky. Re-elected to multiple terms as Commonwealth Attorney. Most recently, in November 2018, was re-elected to another term after a contested election.
  • Served as the chief prosecutor for the 17th Judicial Circuit and was responsible for prosecuting cases investigated by the 13 police agencies that have jurisdiction in Campbell County. Successfully prosecuted thousands of felony cases including murders, sexual assaults, child physical and sexual abuse, robberies, burglaries, assaults, thefts, drug trafficking, importing heroin and drug possession. Currently, holds a 100% conviction rate in jury trials.
  • Prosecuted numerous cases that have received national media attention. In 2015, and again at re-trial in 2018, successfully prosecuted the murder case of Shayna Hubers. Appeared on CNN, 20/20, Dateline, 48 Hours, Snapped and other news shows to discuss the prosecution and the guilty verdict.
  • In 2017, after the sudden death of Boyd County Commonwealth Attorney, was appointed by then Attorney General Andy Beshear to serve as the Special Commonwealth Attorney until a successor could be appointed by the Governor. Successfully managed the offices, the staff and the court dockets in both Campbell and Boyd Counties for months.
  • Served as an instructor for new attorneys at the Kentucky Prosecutor Institute.
  • Assisted local police departments and the Kentucky State Police in training new police officers on how to effectively testify in court. Educated police departments on the impact of legal decisions from both Federal and State Courts. Certified instructor for law enforcement on constitutional issues that affect the successful prosecution of cases in Court.   
  • Appointed as a special prosecutor by the Kentucky Attorney General to prosecute cases across the Commonwealth, including, Boone, Kenton, Mason, Fleming and Bath counties.  
  • In 2007, participated in a “To Catch a Predator” investigation with the anti-predator group Perverted Justice, the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office and the Kentucky Bureau of Investigation. The investigation resulted in the arrest and prosecution of 11 child predators. Became the first prosecutor in Kentucky to go to jury trial with a “To Catch a Predator" case. Obtained guilty verdicts and prison sentences for all individuals charged at the state level.
